Aims & Ethos

The goal of the Ark Nursery School is to educate the whole child to their fullest potential at their own rate.  This is achieved in a carefully prepared environment, using a combination of Montessori and traditional methods.

The most critical period of a child’s life is between birth and six years of age.  During this time a child’s brain is developing rapidly and the information and knowledge acquired during these years forms the basis of the skills needed for adult life.  With this in mind, all aspects of early development are catered for.  There are ample opportunities for activities leading to  the development of social, physical, language, mathematical, creative and scientific skills.  Activities are linked to the statutory Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.
