Snack Time
The mid-session snack provides further opportunities for growth. The children are able to choose when they would like to eat snack between 10am and 11.30am or 2 – 3.30pm approximately. Quiet conversation is encouraged and emphasis is placed on politeness and food manners, thus the social skills are developed.
Birthdays
Birthdays are special occasions and are celebrated at a short ceremony. Parents are asked to prepare a short time line for their child (using 3 or 4 chronologically arranged photographs). Each celebration is a personal affair and is an indirect introduction to history. At snack time the children share the birthday cake which is made during the session by the child whose birthday it is.
Music and Movement
Time is set aside each day for children to enjoy and experience music and movement in a variety of ways. They listen to music, learn songs and action rhymes, explore musical instrument, and dance.
